Regular paintball is available from age ten. For younger groups aged eight to ten, Combat Splat also offers a separate low-impact paintball experience using smaller paintballs travelling at a lower speed. A Structured Outdoor Activity for Students
The day is organised around a clear session format. Students check in, receive their equipment and listen to a full safety briefing before entering the first game zone. Marshals explain how to use the paintball markers, identify the safe areas and make sure players understand the rules. A new objective is explained before each game, helping the group focus on the task rather than simply running around the site.
Combat Splat uses woodland and field game zones with different layouts and challenges. Students may need to protect a position, capture a flag, recover an objective or work together to reach a particular part of the scenario. Some games reward fast movement, while others favour patience, observation and clear communication. That range allows quieter students, natural organisers and energetic players to contribute in different ways.
The venue's game zones are regularly checked and updated. Protective equipment is provided, paintball markers are speed-tested, and trained marshals maintain close supervision throughout play. Combat Splat works to a minimum of one marshal for every 15 players, with a lower ratio used in many sessions.
